Beatrice Gaynelle Parks Butt of Bakersville, Formerly of Marion, NC passed away April 7, 2017 . She was born March 30, 1920 in Atlanta , Georgia . She was the daughter of Dr. Romulus B. and Beatrice McKinney Butt of Marion. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Romulus B. Butt, Jr., her first husband James C. Parks, and her second husband Thomas Woodrow Butt. Mrs. Butt was a graduate of Marion High School and Asheville Teachers College . She was a member of Bakersville United Methodist Church .

She is survived by two step-daughters, Gertrude Willis of Bakersville and Margaret Davenport of Charlotte, and four step-grandchildren; Paula Hollifield of Spruce Pine, Thomas A. "Andy" Willis of Rogersville, TN, Samuel Davenport of Charlotte and Mariah Medlin of Marshville. She is also survived by her nephew, James E. Bryan of Fountain Hills , AZ.

A service will be conducted by Rev. Andy Willis at the Henline-Hughes Funeral Home chapel on Friday, April 21 at 2:00 pm .
