Arletha Callahan Johnson, age 71, of Pleasant Gardens, NC, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, August 21, 2015 at the John F Keever Solace Center in Asheville.  She was the daughter of the late Mack Levi and Mary Winters Callahan and co-owner with her husband of J.L.J. Trucking Company. Arletha was a member of the Mt. Olive Baptist Church , the Old Fort Order of the Eastern Star and Order of the Amaranth.

Arletha is survived by her husband, J.L. "Whitey" Johnson; brothers: Mack Callahan Jr. and wife Louetta and Ned Callahan and wife Billie June all of Bakersville; also many nieces and nephews include a special nephew, Dewayne Goforth. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Blanche Woody and brothers: Bud, Homer, Jack and Terrell Callahan.

Funeral services will be Monday, August 24, 2015 at 3:00 pm in the chapel of Henline-Hughes Funeral Home with Sherrill Whitson officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in the Bailey Cemetery . Memorials may be made to the John F.
