Archie Edward Buchanan, 89, of Marion, NC passed away on Sunday, March 3, 2019 in Mission Hospital, Asheville, NC. A native of Mitchell County, NC he was the son of the late Sam and Mary Howell Buchanan. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Roy Buchanan; sisters: Beatrice Downer, Irene Greene and Edna McKinney and a half sister, Joanne Silver.

Archie is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Ann Silvers Buchanan of the home; sons, Tommy Buchanan and Jimmy Buchanan both of Marion; sister, Muriel Grindstaff; granddaughter, Kayla Buchanan.

Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Wednesday, March 6, 2019 in the chapel of Henline-Hughes Funeral Home with Rev. Mark McKinney officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service and burial will follow in the Silver Chapel Cemetery.
