Araminta Wilson, of Delray Beach, Florida went to be with the Lord on July 26, 2024 at the age of 84 from heart failure. A native of Arecibo, Puerto Rico, she was the oldest daughter of the late Alejandro Rodriguez and Justina Rivera Rodriguez. Araminta moved to New York City in 1952 with her family, where she met the love of her life, Roland James Wilson Sr in December 1957 while he was in the Army and they got married in September of 1958. In 1959 Roland Sr's time in the Army was over and the newlyweds moved to the Cleveland, Ohio area where Roland, Sr went back to work as a machinist and they started a family. She devoted her life to serving God, being a loving and supportive wife, and raising a family. She was primarily a homemaker, but also worked as a master tailor/seamstress, secretary, electronics technician, and at Ford's Fisher Body Plant as needed. Araminta always placed the needs of her husband and children above her own and always taught her children and grandchildren to be close to God and our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ wherever they lived. Her love, guidance, humor, and quick wit will be sorely missed.
Araminta was preceded in death by her granddaughter Stephanie Justina Wilson in 1995, granddaughter Danielle Rae Wilson in 2016, son Daniel Ray Wilson in 2018, and her husband Roland James Wilson, Sr in 2020. Araminta is survived by her 3 loving children, daughter Miriam Yvette Wilson of Lantana, Florida, Roland James Wilson, Jr of Derby, Kansas, and Brian Alexander Wilson of Delray Beach, Florida, and 9 grandchildren.
