Anna Mae Sparks Wilson, age 92, of the Snow Hill Community, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, February 27, 2019 at her home surrounded by family and friends. A native of Mitchell County, she was the daughter of the late Jeter and Essie Buchanan Sparks and the wife of the late Mack E. Wilson of Bakersville. She was also preceded in death by her sisters Margie Townsend, Louise Aldridge, Agnes Forbes, Betty Jo Burleson and Peggy Sparks. Anna Mae was a member of Snow Hill Baptist Church. Anna Mae enjoyed gardening, going on trips, and talking and laughing with her family and friends.

Surviving are her children: Mark Wilson and Sharon Wilson Buchanan, of Bakersville, NC, granddaughter; Brittany Wilson Barrier and Husband Dillon, of Raleigh, NC, sisters; Dorothy Smith and Wanda Perkinson, brothers; Bruce Sparks and wife Marie, and Gary Sparks, many nieces nephews and cousins.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, March 3, 2019 at 3:00PM in Snow Hill Baptist Church, 265 Slagle Rd, Bakersville, NC 28705, with Reverends Gary Sparks, William Ellis, and Dean Honeycutt officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at the church cemetery.
