Alvin Richard Gardner, age 66 of Campbell Cemetery Rd, Bakersville, NC passed away April 2, 2022. He was a son of the late Newland Frank and Ella Mae Childers Gardner. He was previously employed with Henredon Furniture. He loved his family and his church family. He enjoyed hunting, and beekeeping.

Survivors include: his wife Phyllis Gardner, of Bakersville, NC, two daughters; Kelly Jo Gardner, of Bakersville, NC, and Pamela Lynn Buchanan, of Spruce Pine, NC, two sons; Ricky Gardner, and Augustus Gardner, of Bakersville, NC, three sisters; Darlene Putman, of Bakersville, NC, Margaret Gardner, of Unicoi, TN, and Betty English, of Bakersville, NC, one brother; George Gardner, of Hickory, NC, two grandchildren; Luther Lester and Trevor Buchanan, two step grandchildren; James and Mae Woodby, and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by: his son; Jesse James Gardner, six brothers, and three sisters.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 6, 2022 at 2:00PM in the chapel of Henline - Hughes Funeral Home with GB Garland, Doug Honeycutt, and Mike Peterson officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow the service at Mosley Cemetery.
