Altha Ledford Reel, age 87, of Marion passed away Wednesday, January 28, 2015 in the Rose Hill Retirement Community. A native of Bakersville, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Myrtle McKinney Ledford and the wife of the late Harry Edward Reel. She was also preceded in death by four brothers: Jack, Bill,Virgil and Lane Ledford and a sister, Beulah Zirk. Altha was a homemaker.

Survivors include her son, Harry L Reel of Old Fort; daughters: Louise R Grady and Pat R Lunsford both of Marion and Beverly R Kelly of Asheboro; sister, Betty J Ledford of  Hope Mills, NC and brother, Dean Ledford of Darlington, MD; also eight grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held 2:30 pm Sunday, February 1, 2015 in the Going Home Freewill Baptist Church in Marion of which she was a member. Pastor Jeff Duncan will officiate. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will follow the service in the Wilson Cemetery in Bakersville.
