Alice Webb Tipton, 93 of the Harrell Hill Community, Bakersville, NC passed away on Monday, May 20, 2019 in the Mitchell House in Spruce Pine, NC. She was the daughter of the late Monroe and Dora Robinson Gortney. She was a member of the Union Hill Freewill Baptist Church and the Order of the Eastern Star Roan Mtn Chapter 29. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Willie Webb and Elbert Tipton; brothers: Charles, Dave, Slone, Albert, and Earcle Gortney; sisters: Isby Whitson, Tilda Garland, Etta Stevens, Ethel Buchanan, Margie Ingram and Mae McGill.

Survivors include her daughter, Dorothy Campbell (Hal), son, James M. Webb (Ella Jean) and brother, Clarence Gortney all of Bakersville; four grandchildren: Chris Campbell, Sherry Campbell, Amanda Duncan and Anthony Webb; great grandchildren: Kell Farley, Kyle Farley, Aidan Duncan, Julianna Duncan and Grayson Webb; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 7:00 pm Thursday, May 23, 2019 in the chapel of Henline-Hughes Funeral Home with Rev. Mike Peterson officiating. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service. Burial will be 11:00 am Friday, May 24, 2019 in the Union Hill Cemetery, Union Hill Church Rd, Green Mtn, NC.
