Albert Ray Forbes, age 77 of Dogwood Drive, Bakersville, NC passed away March 6, 2016 at Blue Ridge Regional Hospital in Spruce Pine, NC. He was born in Yancey County , NC to the late Stanley and Ethel Buchanan Forbes. He was retired from Hi Valley Construction where he worked in Maintenance. He was a member of Mine Creek Baptist Church and was a Veteran of The United States Navy.

Survivors include: his wife Peggy G. Forbes, of the home, two daughters; Rhonda Rae Forbes, and Wanda Sue Forbes, two sons; James Paul Forbes, and Carl Wayne Forbes, all of Bakersville , NC . one brother; Robert Stanley Forbes, of Marion, NC, four sisters; Brenda Forbes, of Spruce Pine, NC, Shirley Marshall of, Pa., Linda Forbes, of Florida, and Genny Pittman, of Spruce Pine, NC, and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death in addition to his parents by; four brothers; Don, Kelly, Clarence, and Howard Forbes, and three sisters; Anne, Charlotte, and Cora Lee.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 9, 2016 at 7:30PM in the chapel of Henline - Hughes Funeral Home with Chris Rathbone and Kenneth Murphy officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00PM until the service time.
