Albert Buchanan, 94 , of the Beans Creek Community, passed away on Wednesday, August 31, 2016 in the Johnson City Medical Center . He was the son of the late Leonard and Margaret Miller Buchanan and was a retired pipe fitter for the Newport News Ship Building and Dry Dock Company. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 5 sisters and 2 brothers.

Survivors include his wife, Alma Hughes Buchanan of their home; daughters: Margaret Carol Buchanan of Bakersville, Robyn Buchanan Garner of Okeechobee, FL, and Nancy Jane Buchanan of Cumming, GA; sisters, Gertrude Frye and Jean Buchanan Church both of Tennessee; brother, Rathe Buchanan of Abingdon, VA; 5 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 3:00 pm Sunday, September 4, 2016 in the chapel of Henline-Hughes Funeral Home with James Garner and Paul Bennett officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior the service. In lieu of flowers, Albert's family ask that you plant a tree in his honor in the location of your choosing.
