Agnes Hariett Forbes, age 85, passed away on Thursday, September 20, 2018. She was the daughter of the late Jeter and Essie Buchanan Sparks and the wife of the late Nelson "Red" Forbes. She was also preceded in death by four sisters: Margie Townsen, Louise Aldridge, Betty Jo Burleson and Peggy Sparks. Agnes was a homemaker and a member of Liberty Hill Baptist Church.

Survivors include her daughters: Sheree Forbes Wells (Larry) of Spruce Pine; Mia Stafford of Raleigh; her son, Dana Forbes (Laurie) of Raleigh; sisters: Anna Mae Wilson of Bakersville, Dorothy Smith of Spruce Pine and Wanda Perkison of Kittrell, NC; brothers: Bruce Sparks and Gary Sparks both of Spruce Pine; grandchildren: Joshua Wells, Douglas Stafford, Shaylee Stafford and Emma Forbes; and great grandchild, Haley Wells.

Graveside services will be 3:00 pm Saturday, September 22, 2018 in the Liberty Hill Cemetery with Sam Brewer officiating.
