Tevis Eugene Edwards

            Tevis Eugene "Gene - Wildman" Edwards, age 68 of the Cane Creek Community, passed away on Friday, March 16, 2018. He was the son of the late Tevis and Nell Buchanan Edwards. Gene was a graduate of Bowman High School and A.B. Tech in Asheville where he was a member of the basketball team. He was a U.S. Army Veteran, a member of the American Legion, former business manager for the Bakersville Rhododendron Festival, a member of Cane Creek Baptist Church, and a member of the N.R.A. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters: Carole and Barbara and a nephew, Brian Dolan.

            Survivors include his sister, Rachel Ann Lomas and five nieces and nephews, five great nieces and nephews and 2 great great nieces and nephews; his beloved dog, Sandy and many devoted friends.

            Funeral services will be held 3:00 pm Saturday, March 24, 2018 in the chapel of Henline-Hughes Funeral Home with Mark McKinney officiating. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service. Burial will follow the service in the Cane Creek Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, 4899 Belfort Rd, Suite 300, Jacksonville, FL 32256 or "Go to your favorite drive-in and have a hamburger and crinkle cut fries in memory of Wildman Edwards."
