Ruby (McKinney) Edwards

Ruby Edwards, 95 of Spruce Pine, passed away on Saturday, September 1, 2018 at her home. She was the daughter of the late Jess and Martha Ledford McKinney and the wife of the late James Edwards. She attended the Roan Mtn. Baptist Church and Grassy Creek Presbyterian Church. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by sisters: Ruth Wise, Bertie Banner, Margie Futrell, Jessie Elizabeth McKinney and Carrie Pitman, and brothers: Robert and Ray McKinney.

She is survived by her daughters: Kathy Stamey (Marvin) and Kay Geouge both of Spruce Pine, NC; her sister, Faye Slagle of Bakersville; 4 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be 2:00 pm Monday, September 3, 2018 in the chapel of Henline-Hughes Funeral Home with Larry Greene officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in the Green Young Cemetery.
