Richard Hoilman

Richard Hoilman, age 70, of Hobson Rd., Bakersville, NC went home to be with the Lord, October 6, 2019. He was a native of Mitchell County, NC and a son of the late Burton and Ruth Phillips Hoilman. He was a member of Beans Creek Church of Jesus Christ. He was retired after serving 40 years with the Mitchell County, NC Sheriff's Office as a Deputy Sheriff. Richard loved his church, family, occupation, and his community.

Survivors include: His wife; Rosa Lee Hoilman, of the home, one daughter; Melissa Hoilman, of Bakersville, NC, two step sons; Bill Cook and Jeff Cook, both of Spruce Pine, NC, two sisters; Shirley Miller, (Wayne), of Kentucky, and Brenda Lane, of Bakersville, NC, one brother; Larry Joe Hoilman, (Kathy), of Bakersville, NC, grandchildren; Laura Hoilman, and Sarah Byrd, and the love of his life; Mason Jones, of the home.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by: a brother; Lonnie Hoilman, and a granddaughter; Lisa Byrd.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, October 10, 2019 at 2:00PM in Beans Creek Church of Jesus Christ, with G.B. Garland and David Byrd officiating. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service. Interment will follow the service at Gouge Cemetery (Hwy 261). Pallbearers will be members of The Mitchell County Sheriff's Office.
