Mary Eula Yelton

Mary Eula Yelton, age 93, of Bakersville, passed away on Sunday, October 6, 2019 at her home. A native of Bakersville, she was the daughter of the late John and Hattie Greene Yelton and the wife of the late Claude Yelton. Mary was also preceded in death by 4 sisters and 5 brothers. She was a member of Friendship Baptist Church. Mary loved to cook for everyone and she enjoyed her flower garden and especially loved her cat, Frisky.

Survivors include three daughters: Janice Silvers of Erwin, TN, Ann Stout (Tommy) of Bakersville and Vickie Waycaster of Bakersville; three sons: Howard Yelton (Linda)  of Bakersville, Larry Yelton of Bakersville and Jim Yelton (Louise) of Morganton, NC; she also leaves behind 31 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, October 8, 2019 in the chapel of Henline-Hughes Funeral Home with G.B. Garland and Johnathan Thacker officiating. The family will receive friends from 1 until 3 PM prior to the service. Burial will follow the service in the Phillips Cemetery on Fork Mountain Road, Bakersville, NC.
