Louise (Baker) Ferguson

Louise Baker Ferguson, age 94 of Baker Lane, Bakersville, NC passed away July 13, 2017. She was a native of Mitchell County, NC and a daughter of the late George and Eleanor Teague Baker. She was a faithful member of Bakersville Baptist Church. She was retired from Mitchell County School System where she worked for 30 years and was. a member of the Retired Teachers Association. She was a graduate of Bowman High School and Appalachian State College in Boone, NC. After School she was employed with The United States Navy as a supervisor in the ammunition department in Charlotte, NC. She then returned to Mitchell County, NC and spent the rest of her career in The Mitchell County School System.    

Survivors include, her daughters; Eleanor Conley (Ron), of Parrottsville, TN, Elizabeth Miller (Kurt), of Bakersville, NC, Susan Huskins (Roger), of Penland, NC, and Barbara E. Ferguson, of Spruce Pine, NC, and one son, Daniel E. Ferguson (Patricia), of China Grove, NC, fourteen grandchildren, and sixteen great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death in addition to her parents by her husband, Brown M. Ferguson, a daughter, Rebecca Jo Ferguson, two sisters; Mary C. Morgan, and Lucille B. Kirby, and one brother, Charles F. Baker.

Funeral services will be held Monday, July 17, 2017 at 3:00PM in Bakersville Baptist Church with Reverend Jim Sutton and Reverend Larry Greene officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow the service at Bakersville Memorial Cemetery.
