Lee Bennett Obituary

Dateline: Green Mountain, NC

 

Lee Bennett, age 96, of Bailey Settlement, Green Mountain, NC, passed away November 7th at his home. He was a son of the late Samuel and Nettie Edwards Bennett.

 

Lee was self employed as a farmer and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and ginseng hunting. He was a member of Bailey Independent Brethren Church.

 

Survivors include: his wife; Frankie Bennett, three granddaughters; Renee Gibbs (Brian), Pam Alford (Eric), Sherry McKinney (Cody). One grandson; John Hughes, seven great grandchildren, one great great granddaughter, son in law; Dennis Hughes, daughter in law; Jean Bennett, six step daughters, five step sons, and one sister; Betty Honeycutt.

 

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by: his wife; Ruth Bennett, daughter; Shirley Hughes, son; Bobby Bennett, two sisters and seven brothers.

 

Funeral services will be held Sunday, November 10, 2019 at 2:00PM in Bailey Independent Brethren Church, with Reverends Reed Bagby and Dean Murphy officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow the service at Bennett Cemetery.

 

The family would like to express a special thank you to Hospice and Palliative Care of The Blue Ridge for their blessed care of Lee.
