Jennifer Ann Ledford

Jennifer (Jenny) Ann Ledford was born on October 18, 1972 in Johnson City, Tennessee and was carried into Heaven on August  8, 2018 at the age of 45. She passed very unexpectantly at East Alabama Medical Center in Opelika, Alabama after a very brief illness.

Jenny resided in Auburn, Alabama and was employed by Belay International as a Virtual Assistant. She was recently accepted into Auburn University to complete her Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management. She was very excited about her new future.

Jenny was preceded in death by her father, Bruce Ledford, her maternal grandmother, Nell Young, as well as her paternal grandmother & grandfather, Jess and Donna Ledford and her stepfather, Jake Owens.

Jenny is survived by her mother, Suzanne Young Owens, Joe Young (grandfather), Joe Ledford (brother) and wife, Heather as well as their children, Hezekiah and Chloe; Lochlin Todd Vance (son) and wife, Emily as well as grandchildren, Gracelyn and Aiden, as well as many aunts, uncles and numerous cousins. She is also survived by her stepsister, Cricket Owens Blackley, her stepbrother, Chris Owens and wife, Ashley. Jenny would have wanted to include her loving fur baby, Toby, who has been her faithful companion for twelve years.

The family would like to express their gratitude for the care and love given by the doctors, nurses and ancillary staff at East Alabama Medical Center.

A memorial service will be held Tuesday, August 14, 2018 at 4:00PM in the chapel of Henline - Hughes Funeral Home with Vern Grindstaff and Mark McKinney officiating. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service. Interment will follow at Green Young Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, Jenny’s mother requests that donations be made “In Memory of Jenny Ledford” for the establishment of a fund for furthering awareness and treatment of mental health issues so no one will have to suffer with depression, anxiety, and panic attacks without adequate help administered with Christian guidance. It’s what Jenny would have wanted.
