Howard Butler

Dateline: Bakersville, NC (Buladean Community)

On Saturday, November 30, 2019, Howard Butler, child of God, loving husband to wife Ann and father to David and Scott, went home to be with his Lord and Savior. After complications from several illnesses and accidents. Howard received his first wonderful breath of Heaven.

Howard was born on February 6, 1943 to Paul and Frankie Butler of Buladean, North Carolina.

He graduated from Tipton Hill High School where he met Ann, the love of his life for 56 years. Howard became a masterful carpenter that helped build many homes working for Moffitt's Construction for over 40 years where he developed lifelong relationships with so many people that he met. Howard was always an avid farmer at heart that loved to see new life and gardens grow.

His life was guided by the golden rule, in that he was a wonderful husband, father, brother, friend and neighbor to everyone that knew him. Never too busy to help someone in need.

Howard was a lifetime member of Spring Creek Missionary Baptist Church, where he served faithfully as treasurer and supported all business projects associated with the church using his God given carpentry skills.

Howard was first and foremost a man of God that always sought to do the right thing and instill Christian principles in all his family. He was known for his quick whit, his infectious smile, and his dedicated work ethic and his kind and compassionate spirit.

Howard was preceded in death by his father Paul, his mother Frankie, his sister Nell, two brothers in law and two sisters in law. He is survived by his wife Ann, his two children, David and wife Julie, Scott and wife Elizabeth. Grandchildren Jesse, Jacob, Zachary and Ethan. Brothers Mack, Carl and wife Judy. One brother in law, one sister in law, three nephews and one niece.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, December 3, 2019 at 7:00PM at Spring Creek Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Bob McCurry officiating. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service. Interment will be Wednesday, December 4, at 11:00AM at the Butler Family Cemetery.
