Earlene Baker, 95, of White Oak Road, Bakersville, NC went to be with the Lord Saturday evening April 14, 2018. She was born in Elk Park, NC on January 9, 1923 and was the daughter of the late Marvin and Inez Phillips Greene of Bakersville, NC. Earlene was married to Lee Baker and they had four children.
She was preceded in death by her husband Lee Baker and her daughter Shirley Baker Greene. She is survived by her three sons; Allen Baker (Kay) of Bakersville, Arthur Baker (Margaret) of Bakersville, Carl Baker (Fran) of Lebanon, MO, her sister Doris Hobson of Bakersville, son in law Bradley Green of Bakersville, and seven grandchildren: Teresa Garland, Tracy Pittman, Chris Baker, Candi Gossett, Stephanie Dellinger, Autumn Baker, and Amy Ayers. Ten great grandchildren: Katelin Gossett, Erika Garland, Megan Dellinger, Meredith Dellinger, Nathan Baker, Ben Baker, Abby Baker, Zeus Ponder, Zaiden Ayers, and Chava Yevsa, along with a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
She was a lifetime member of Bakersville Baptist Church and was a secretary to Dr. A. E. Gouge and worked for many other businesses in Bakersville.
Earlene will fondly be remembered by her family and friends as a warm and loving spirit that cared for many people in her life. She was a witty and humorous person up until the very end of her physical life. She will deeply be missed by those she loved, and who loved her deeply.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 18, 2018 at 2:00PM in the chapel of Henline - Hughes Funeral Home. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow the service at Bakersville Memorial Cemetery.
