Doris (Greene) Hobson

Doris Greene Hobson, age 85, of Gouge Cove Rd, Bakersville, NC went home to be with the Lord October 14, 2018. She was a native of Mitchell County, NC and a daughter of the late Marvin and Inez Phillips Greene. She was a homemaker and a member of Fork Mountain Baptist Church.

Survivors include: daughters; Joann Hobson Young, of Spruce Pine, NC and Sharon Hobson Fox (Kenneth), also of Spruce Pine, NC, three grandchildren; Donna Wardle, Amanda Carpenter, and Chad Fox (Diane),  and four great grandchildren; Cody Wardle, Lexie Wortman, Jada Wortman, and Zoey Wortman.

She was preceded in death in addition to her parents by: her husband; Howard Hobson, sisters; Earlene Baker, Ann Jean Ledford, Estelle Baker, and brothers; James Greene, Ralph Greene, Jack Greene, Townzel Greene, and Tom Greene, and great great grandson; Caleb Fox.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, October 17, 2018 at 2:00PM in Fork Mountain Baptist Church with Tommy Thomas and Danny Silver officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
