Carlos Lee Yelton

Carlos Lee Yelton, age 92, of Ridgecrest Lane, Spruce Pine, NC passed away June 27, 2019. He was a native of Mitchell County, NC and a son of the late Luther and Lucy Green Yelton. He was retired as a maintenance mechanic with Allied Chemical in Baltimore, MD. He was a United States Navy Veteran serving at Pearl Harbor.

Survivors include; two daughters: Cynthia Turner, and Sharon Shuler, both of Spruce Pine, NC, two brothers: Luther Yelton, of Spruce Pine, NC, and Bob Yelton (Maxidean), of Bakersville, NC, three grandchildren: Brandy Sullivan, Savannah Shuler, and Steven Shuler, two great grandchildren: Cheyanne and Michael Sullivan.

He was preceded in death in addition to his parents by; his wife: Marie Yelton, sister: Thelma Forbes, and brother: Floyd Yelton.

Funeral services will be held Monday, July 1, 2019 at 2:00PM in the chapel of Henline- Hughes Funeral Home with Larry Greene officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. The North Carolina National Guard Honor Guard will provide graveside military honors. Interment will follow at Garland Cemetery (Bad Creek Rd).
