KENNEDY YOUNG
Virginia Young, age 81 of Morganton, NC passed away April 16,
2008 at Grace Hospital in Morganton, NC. She was the daughter of the
late Lacy and Octavia Kennedy and previously employed at Western
Piedmont College where she taught Doll making. She attended Oak Hill
United Methodist Church in Morganton, NC, and was a member of Mine
Creek Baptist Church, in Bakersville, NC. She was a member and
President of The Home Demonstration Club in Morganton, NC, and
worked with Crafts Unlimited as a Dollmaker. She loved Flowers and
was an avid Reader and Seamstress.
Survivors include; daughter, Charla White, of Morganton, NC and
son, Richard Young, of Nebo, NC, one sister, Anna Lee Marsh, of
Chehalis, Washington, two grandchildren, Melanie Lynn Young Ellis,
and husband Scott, and Miranda Denise Young, one great grandchild,
Kayle Ellis. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, April 19 at
2:00PM in Mine Creek Baptist Church with Kenneth Murphy and Mark
Denton officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior
to the service. Interment will follow at Mine Creek Baptist Church
Cemetery.
