Ray Young ,74 of N Greenwood Drive ,Johnson
City, died Saturday, March 29, 2008
At Johnson City Merdical Center. A native of
Mitchell County,NC he was the son of the late Creed and Mabel Wilson
Young. He was retired from Western Electric Company of Indiana.
Mr Young was a Veteran of the US Army Signal
Corp. He was a resident of Indiana for
several years before moving to Johnson City in
1987. He was a member of Antioch Baptist
Church in Johnson City,Tennessee.He is preceded
in death by brothers Norman, George,
Thurman and Eugene Young. Survivors are his
wife of 53 years Barbara Hughes Young.
Two sons, Gary R Young and wife Joy of
Chicago,Ill. Gregory R Young and wife Denise of Avon, Indiana.
Grandsons Alexander and Nicholas Young. A brother, Wendle Young of
Bakersville,NC. A special aunt Anna Bell Blanton of Bakersville,NC
Funeral Services will be Tuesday, April 1 at
8:30 PM atAntioch Baptist Church, 1400 Antioch Road, Johnson
City,Tennessee. Reverends Bud Pate, Jerry Hall and Kevin Laws will
officiate.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30
Pm prior to the service.
Internment will be Wednesday, April 2 at 2 pm
in Green Young Cemetery, Bakersville, NC Memorials may be made to
Lukemia Lymphoma Society, 5950 Fairview Road, Suite 250,
Charlotte,NC 28210 Henline- Hughes Funeral Home of Bakersville,NC is
serving the family.
