"BERT" WILSON
Harold B. "Bert" Wilson, age 87, of Spruce Pine, NC, formerly of
Lynchburg, VA. passed away December 8, 2009. He was a native
of Mitchell County, NC, and was the son of the late Dexter and Mary
McKinney Wilson. He was a Route Salesman for Merita Bread in
Lynchburg, VA. He was of the Baptist faith and served in World
War II where he received a Purple Heart.
Survivors include: his wife, Emma Lou Boone Wilson of the home,
special nephew, Jerry Squires and wife Barbara, special great-nephew
Tim Squires and wife Agnes. He is also survived by many other
nephews and nieces. He is preceded in death by brothers, Clarence
and Oscar Wilson, sisters, Virgie Womble, Lillian Cook, Viola
Dellinger, and Clara Woody. Funeral services will be held
Thursday, December 10, 2009 at 2:00PM in the Chapel of Henline-Hughes
Funeral Home in Bakersville, NC. Visitation will be one hour
prior to the service. David Philbeck and Larry Greene will be
officiating the service. Interment will follow in the Rebels
Creek Cemetery. Military funeral honors will be conducted by
the NC Honor Guard. Henline-Hughes Funeral Home is assisting the
Wilson family. |
