Mrs Cornell McGee Vance, age 77 of Spruce
Pine,NC died at her residence Saturday, July 7,2007.
A native of Mitchell County,NC she was the
daughter of the late Baxter Cornelius and Elva McKinney McGee. Mrs
McGee was a former employee of American Thread Company and a
member of Grassy Creek Baptist Church. She is preceded in death by
Sisters, Lillian Pittman, Ruby Buchanan and Mary Lee Hall.
Brothers, Sam and Garland McGee.
Survivors are her husband, Willard Gordon

Phillips,Jr. of Boone,NC
Dianne Vance Greene and husband Mark Randy
Greene of Pensacola, Fla. and Beverly Vance Burleson of Conover,NC.
A sister, Betty Wiseman of Spruce Pine,NC. Five grandchildren, Lisa
Helms, Lori Roseman, Douglas Greene, Duran Greene and Olivia
Burleson. Great grandchildren, Hunter Helms, Dylan Helms, Gracin
Roseman and Payton Roseman. Funeral services will be Monday, July 9,
2007 – 11 Am
At Grassy Creek Baptist Church. Matthew Mills,
Larry Greene and Kenny Hollifield will officiate. Private burial
will follow the service in Grassy Creek Cemetery. In lieu of flowers
memorials may be made to Grassy Creek Baptist Church, Music
Department c/o John Hall or Hospice of Mitchell County, PO Box 38,
Spruce Pine,NC 28777.
