Carrie Byrd Sparks, age 99, of Highway 226
North, Bakersville,NC died
Thursday, February 28, 2008 at Brian Center in
Spruce Pine,NC. A native of Mitchell County,NC she was the daughter
of the late Will and Lizzie Young Byrd. She is
also preceded in death by her husband Jesse
Sparks. Four brothers and two sisters.
Survivors are her daughters, Marilyn and
husband Roger Queen of Bakersville NC.
Theresa and husband Rev. Phillip Murdock of
Marion,NC. A son, Deward and
wife Charlene Sparks of Bakersville,NC. Nine
Grandchildren, Eighteen great grandchildren
and one great great grandchild.
Funeral services will be Saturday, March 1 – 8
Pm at Cub Creek Baptist Church.
The family will receive friends two hours
prior to the service.Burial will be Sunday,
March 2- 2 pm at Bailey Memorial
Cemetery.Henline-Hughes is assisting the family.
