JOHN WESLEY SIDES III

John Wesley Sides III, age 58 of Bakersville, NC went to be with the Lord on May 6, 2010 after a long illness.

He was a member of Roan Mountain Baptist Church. He was a graduate of Bowman High School, and Carolina School of Pharmacy class of 1976 at Chapel Hill North Carolina. He opened Bakersville Pharmacy in 1980 which he owned and operated for 30 years. John owned and operated Bakersville Pharmacy in a kind and caring manner and this tradition will continue per his whishes. He was a member of Bakersville Town Council, and Benefactor to Carolina School of Pharmacy since 1976.

He was beloved by friends and family and will be greeted in heaven by those that went before him.

 He is survived by his wife Mari Luise Jarrett Sides and daughter Susannah Sides, one sister, Debra Sides, brother in law, William Dexter Jarrett, sisters in law, Nancy and Tom Drinnen, Jennifer Wilson and Don Wilson, Nora and Alan Lusk, and Ruth and Jeff Watson, and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his son John Wesley Sides IV, parents, John Wesley Sides Jr. and Marion Ramsey Sides, and maternal grandparents Charles and Louise Ramsey, paternal grandparents, John Wesley Sides Sr and Thelma Peck Sides.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, May 9, 2010 at 5:00PM in Roan Mountain Baptist Church, located on Cane Creek Road in Bakersville, NC, with Mark McKinney officiating. The family will receive friends 3:00PM until 5:00PM prior to the service at the church. Interment will follow at Bakersville Memorial Cemetery.
