PITTMAN
Robert Lee Pittman, age 67, of Aspen Lane, Bakersville, NC passed
away February 8, 2010, at his home. He was a Native of Mitchell
County, NC and the son of the late Thomas and Ora Buchanan Pittman.
He was self employed as a Carpenter and was a Veteran of The United
States Army where he served 18 months in the Dominican Republic. He
was a Graduate of Bowman High School Class of 1960, and he attended
Snow Hill Baptist Church. Survivors include: wife, Jane McKinney
Pittman, of the home, daughter, Lora Anthony, and husband Larry, of
Johnson City, TN, son, Robert Alan Pittman, of Bakersville, NC,
sisters, Hattie Zell Rathbone, of Spruce Pine, NC, Rose Ann Ledford,
of Bakersville, NC, and Carolyn Birchfield, of Unicoi, TN, brothers,
Henry Pittman, of Hickory, NC, James Pittman, of Bakersville, NC,
and Joe Pittman, of Spruce Pine, NC, two grandchildren, Sara, and
Zakary. He was preceded in death by: brothers, Glenn, and Stokes,
sisters, Brenda Pittman, and Parvell Hughes.
The family will receive friends Friday, February 12, 2010 from
6:30 until 8:30 PM in Henline Hughes Funeral Home. Funeral services
will be held Saturday, February 13, 2010 at 1:00PM in Snow Hill
Baptist Church with Marvin Hensley, Dean Honeycutt, and Adam Brewer
officiating. The body will lie in state one hour prior to the
service. Interment will follow at Cane Creek Freewill Baptist Church
Cemetery.
