PITMAN
Mary Ann Pitman went home to her Lord on April 7, 2010.
She was affectionately known as Mom, Maw, Sister, and Friend.
She was a member of Western Carolina Church in Spruce Pine, NC. She worked at Spruce Pine Hospital as a Nurse from 1979 until
her retirement and was a member of the Sigma Theta Tau National
Society for Nurses. She provided care with love and tenderness
to many residents of Mitchell and surrounding counties.
She served as a mentor to many nurses and doctors, as well as a
prayer warrior for her loved ones.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Ruth
McNeil, daughter, Dawn Ledford, and an infant son.
Survivors include: her loving husband of 55 years, Fred, son, Alan
and wife Sandra of Plumtree, NC, daughters, Robin Willis and husband
Tim of Ledger, and Lori Pitman of Ledger, NC, four grandchildren,
Jenney Howell and husband Chris, Maggie Buchanan, Lucas and Kimberly
Pitman, great grandchildren, Colleen and Tate Howell, brothers,
Robert McNeil of Trenton, SC, Johnny McNeil and Gary Wayne Riddle
both of Spruce Pine, NC, numerous nieces, nephews, family and
friends.
Funeral services will be held Friday, April 9, 2010 at 8:00PM in
the Chapel of Henline-Hughes Funeral Home in Bakersville, NC.
Visitation will be two hours prior to the service. Randy
Bonner and Ronnie Gouge will be officiating the service.
Interment will be Saturday, April 10, 2010 at 10:00AM in the Cane
Creek Cemetery #2.
