Mary M. Peterson
Mary M. Peterson, 92, of Green Mountain, NC,
went home to be with the Lord on Monday, May 17, 2010. Mary was a
charter member of Toe River Freewill Baptist Church where she taught
Sunday School. Mary’s life was truly blessed by her church family,
neighbors, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her loving
husband, Tommy Peterson, and their only child, Opal Adkins. Mary was
also preceded in death by her brothers, Will Murphy, Eckard Murphy,
Lester Murphy, Burl Murphy, and John Murphy, all of Green Mountain,
NC, as well as by her sisters, Joanna Edwards, Loretta Peterson, and
her twin sister, Margaret Peterson, all of Erwin, TN.
Her survivors include, son in law, Hobart
Adkins, of Conover, NC, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May
19, 2010 at 8:00PM in the chapel of Henline – Hughes Funeral Home
with Burnie Jones officiating. The family will receive friends two
hours prior to the service. Interment will be Thursday, May 20, 2010
at 11:00AM at Peterson Cemetery (Hwy 197).

on Aging and Health of Erwin, TN and Amedisys Hospice Care.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may
be made to Amedisys Hospice Services 167 Hudson Drive, Elizabethton,
TN 37643.
