Jim Parker
Bakersville - Jim Parker, 70, of Hwy. 226 N., Bakersville, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 26, 2007, at Johnson City Medical Center. He was the son of the late Frank and Myrtle Sparks Parker, and a member of Red Hill Methodist Church. He was self-employed in the timber business.
Survivors include his wife, Juanita Parker, of the home; son, James Parker, and wife, Sally, of Jonesborough, Tenn.; daughters, Jeanine Parker and partner, Paul Scholer, of Miami, and Joanna Spencer and husband, Lee, of Midland; sisters, Shelby Jean Cornwell and husband, Ben, of Maiden, Marilene Ledford, and husband, George, of Conover; Billie Jo Deyton and husband, Frank, of Burnsville, and Helen Hughes and husband, Johnny, of Bakersville; brothers, Smith Parker and wife, Mildred, of Bakersville, and Wayne Parker and wife, Ann, of Burnsville; grandchildren, Amanda Cash and husband, Odell, and Alecia Burgess and husband, Chad; great-grandchildren, Madison Rose Burgess and Reagan Tyler Cash; and honorary great-grandchild, Grady Cash.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Juanita Cox; and brothers, Dayton Parker, Donald Parker and Mack Parker, and two infant brothers.
The funeral will be held at 8 p.m. Saturday in the chapel of Henline Hughes Funeral Home, with with speaker Bruce Woody officiating.
The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service.
Interment will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Red Hill Methodist Cemetery.
