| DATELINE: BAKERSVILLE, NC COY PARKER
Coy Parker, age 82, passed away Saturday, May 22, 2010 at his
residence. He was a native of Mitchell County, NC, as was the
son of the late Ratha and Texie Street Parker. He was a
retired millwright and farmer. He was a Veteran of the United
States Army and served in Panama. He was a member of the Odoms
Chapel Freewill Baptist Church and a member of the Disabled American
Veterans. He was loving and devoted to his wife, children,
grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Survivors include:
wife, Vista Street Parker of the home, daughters, Barbara Dupkoski,
Teresa Hollifield, Lesa Lingerfelt, and Tammy Parker all of
Bakersville, NC, grandchildren, Yvonne and Mary Ann Dupkoski,
Christopher Hollifield, Jessica Lingerfelt, Ashley Burleson, Holly
Butler, great grandchildren, Brooklyn Honeycutt, Abigail Burleson,
Caleb John Hollifield, several nieces and nephews. He was preceded
in death by sisters, Maudie Street Byrd and Nadie Herrell, brother,
Simon Street.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, May 23, 2010 at 7:00PM in
Henline-Hughes Funeral Home in Bakersville, NC. Visitation
will be two hours prior to the service. Norman Lovelace and
John L. Stockton will be officiating the service. Interment
will be Monday, May 24, 2010 at 1:00 PM in the Garland-Parker
Cemetery. Henline-Hughes is assisting the Parker family. |
