OBITUARY
FOR; RUTH MARIE MELTON
Ruth Marie Melton 81 of 810 East Street, Elizabethton, Tenn.,
died December 15 in Brown County Hospital, Georgetown, Ohio after a
brief illness. She was born in Johnson City, Tenn., a daughter of
the late John Wesley and Rebecca Greer Miller.
Mrs. Melton was a homemaker,and a member of Odom’s Chapel
Freewill Baptist Church, Bakersville, N.C.
Mrs. Melton was preceded in death by her husband Vernon Melton in
1984.
Mrs. Melton is survived by; Two daughters; Mrs. Carol “Susie”
Goode of Elizabethton, Tenn., Mrs. Naomi Hoydal and husband Idar of
Bethel Ohio. Two sons; Kenneth Melton and wife Brenda of Newland,
N.C. , Kevin Melton [Norma Vinson] of Spruce Pine, N.C. Sister;
Blanche Johnson, of Mobile, Ala., Six Grandchildren and a beloved
Cat named Priss.
Funeral services will be held at 7;00 P.M. Tuesday in the chapel
of Henline – Hughes Funeral Home, officiated by Reverend Steve
Williams, Interment will be at 2;00 P.M. Wednesday in Veterans
National Cemetery, Johnson City, Tenn.
The family will receive friends from 5;30 P.M. until time for
services at 7;00 P.M. , Pallbearers will be; Grandsons, Mark Goode,
Kenny Melton, Nick Hetzer, Austin Murry, James Peterson and Steve
Murry.
