"BOB" MCKINNEY
Robert Wayne "Bob" McKinney, age 74 of Cane Creek Rd,
Bakersville, NC went home to be with the Lord on April 20, 2010. He was the son of
the late Frank and Margaret McKinney and a native of Mitchell
County, NC. He was a member of Grace Baptist Church where he had
served as
Assistant Song Leader and Sunday School Superintendent. He was
previously employed as a Lumber Inspector/ Dry Kiln Operator at Henredon Furniture
Company.
Survivors include: wife Wilma Ward McKinney, of the home,
children, Patty Presnell and husband Sam, of Bakersville, NC, Cathy
Craigo and husband Bill, of Bakersville, NC, Diane Miller and
husband Johnny, of Marion, NC, Debbi Slagle and husband Mike, of
Spruce Pine, NC, Cindi Renfro and husband Martin, of Green Mountain,
NC, one sister, Tillie McKinney, of Bakersville, NC, five brothers,
Charles "Mac" McKinney, of Needmore, PA, John McKinney, of
Taneytown, MD, Weiss McKinney and Doug McKinney, both of Johnson
City, TN, and Burke McKinney, of Elizabethton, TN, five
grandchildren, Crystal Young and husband Aaron, Chris Craigo, Ashley
Presnell, Michaela Slagle, and Ethan Renfro. He was preceded in
death by a brother James "Jay" McKinney. Funeral Services will be
held Thursday, April 22, 2010 at 7:00PM in Grace Baptist Church with
Ronnie Gouge and Roger Laws officiating. The family will receive
friends two hours prior to the service. Interment will be Friday,
April 23, 2010 at 11:00AM at Cane Creek Cemetery #2. Memorials may
