HUGHES
L.C. Hughes, age 70, of Kennett Square passed away on Wednesday,
April 21, 2010 at Chester County Hospital. Born in Mitchell
County, North Carolina, he was the son of the late Garfa and Sena
Barnett Hughes. A mushroom worker for over 50 years, he was
employed by Mushroom Conveyors, Inc. in Avondale. An expert
carpenter and handyman, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and
being with his dog, Ahny. Survivors include: one son, Michael
McMahan of Cochranville; one brother, Lee Hughes of West Grove; two
sisters, Elene Bryant of Green Mountain, NC; and Olene Hutchings of
Lenoir, NC; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his
parents, he was predeceased by two brothers, Loy Hughes and Lonnie
Hughes. Graveside services will be held Thursday, April 29, 2010
at 1:00 PM in the Byrd Cemetery on Ray Barnett Road. Joe Brown
will be officiating the service.
