Saturday, March
29 at Blue
Ridge Hospital in Spruce Pine,NC. A native of Mitchell County,NC he
was the
son of the late
Willard Sr and Kitty McKinney Hollifield.He was a retired Staff
Sergeant from
the US Army.Mr
Hollifield was a member of First Freewill Baptist Church in Spruce
Pine.NC.
He is preceded
in death by his wife Opal Willis Hollifield. Brothers, Alvin,
Everett and Willard Hollifield,Jr. Sister Glenda Hollifield.
Survivors are: Step sons Mike Willis and wife Kim of Spruce Pine,NC
and Joe Willis and wife Billie of Spruce Pine. Grandsons, Jacob and
Jake Willis.
Grandaughter,
Ashley Willis. Great granddaughter, Katherine Willis. Three
sisters,
Laura Jane
Byrd, Marlene Brown and Virginia Buchanan all of Spruce Pine. Two
Brothers, Jack
and Charles Hollifield of Spruce Pine.
Funeral
services will be Tuesday, April
1 -2pm
at Henline-Hughes Chapel. The family will receive friends from 1
until 2 PM prior to the service. Reverands Greg Hollifield and Jacob
Willis will officiate.
Internment will
follow the service in First Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery on
Tempie
Mountain
Road in Spruce
Pine,NC. Henline-Hughes is serving the family.
