AMELIA “BEA” HOLLIFIELD GLASS
Amelia “Bea” Hollifield Glass, age 89 of Spruce Pine, NC died
at her home on Sunday, May 6, 2007. A native of Mitchell County, she
was born to the late Jack and Myrtle McKinney Hollifield.
She was preceded in death by; a son, John Robert Glass, and a
brother, Patrick Henry Hollifield.
Bea graduated from Western Carolina Teachers College at
Cullowhee, and Presbyterian School of Christian Education at
Richmond, Va. She formerly taught in The Mitchell County School
System, and served as Sunday School Teacher, V.B.S. Director, and
Women of The Church Leader in the Presbyterian Church.
Surviving are her husband of 59 years, Robert L. Glass, a
daughter, Patricia G. Young, and husband Kirk, of Burnsville, NC, a
sister, Beryl Epperson, of Reston, Va. , two nephews, Lewis Epperson
Jr, of Reston, Va, and Henry Hollifield, of Harrisburg, Pa, and a
special caregiver, Wanda Ray.
Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, May 9, at 8:00PM in
Plumtree Presbyterian Church with Wallace Wise and Steve Williams
officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:30 until the
service hour. Interment will be Thursday, May 10 at 11:00AM at Pine
Branch Church Cemetery.
