Ruth
Sparks Duncan, age 74 of 5226 Hwy 226 South, Bakersville NC, passed
away Friday, September 21, 2007 at Elizabeth House
Hospice and
Palliative Care, in
Henderson County. She was a native of Mitchell County, NC and the
daughter of the late Ace and Dollie English Sparks. She was retired
from Henredon Furniture, and was a member of Bear Creek Baptist
Church.
Survivors include; one brother, Buster Sparks, of
Bakersville, NC, and a special niece and caregiver Lisa “Tiny” Young
also of Bakersville, NC, and a host of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by; husband, William “Will”
Lee Duncan , brothers, Newland, Harry, and Frank Sparks, sisters,
Marcelle Duncan, Hazel Buchanan, and Edith Buchanan.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, September 23 at
2:00PM in the chapel of Henline – Hughes Funeral Home with Greg
Hollifield officiating. The family will receive friends one hour
prior to the service. Burial will follow at Bear Creek Cemetery.
