CULLIFER "CHAPLAIN JOHN"
John T. Cullifer, age 77, of Bakersville, NC, passed away July
19, 2010 at his residence. He was a native of Geneva County,
Alabama, and was the son of the late Titus and Eldora Ward Cullifer.
He had worked as a Chaplain at Johnson City Medical Center, Johnson
City, TN, he was a graduate of Geneva High School in Geneva, AL, he
was also a graduate of Slidel Bible Institute in Slidel, AL, where
he obtained a Masters Degree in Theology. He was a master
woodworker and an active member of Spring Creek Baptist Church.
Survivors include: his wife, Eva Booker Cullifer of the home,
daughters, Terry Sapp of San Antonio, FL, Vickie (Bill) Howard of
Clearwater, FL, Sharon (Wayne) Morrell of Orlando, FL, Jo (Steve)
Haynes of Tampa, FL, Patricia (Gary) Latimer of Spruce Pine, NC,
Sandi (Greg) Ollis of Buladean, NC, Johnnie (Brian) Masterson of
Buladean, NC, sons, John Stephen Cullifer of New Hampshire, George
(Donna) Hinzman of Burrnsville, NC, son-in-law, Steve Plante of Port
Charlotte, FL, brothers, Ed Cullifer (Carol) of Mt. Pleasant, FL,
Carlton Cullifer (Rene) of Kirbyville, TX, sisters, Frances (Dixon)
Ard of Coffee Springs, AL, Shirley (Chester) Holland of Enterprise,
AL, Charlie Faye (Richard) Grice of Pensacola, FL, Marie (Dean)
Garland of Picayune, MS, Janice McCabe of Anniston, AL, uncles, Sam
and Gomer Cullifer both of Florida, eighteen grandchildren and four
great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by: daughters, Nancy Plante and
Renee Stacy.
Funeral services will be held, Wednesday, July 21, 2010 at 7:00PM
in the Spring Creek Baptist Church with Bob McCurry officiating and
an Eulogy by Chaplain, Debbie Sheilds. Visitation will be two
hours prior to the service. Interment will be Thursday, July
22, 2010 at 10:00AM in the Butler-Cable-Cullifer Cemetery on Spring
Creek Church Road.
