LUTHER CANIPE
Luther Canipe, age 94 passed away Friday, December 21, 2007 at
Asheville Health Care Center. A native of Mitchell County, he was
the youngest of ten children, born to the late John Canipe and Mary
Garland Canipe. He is Preceded in death by his wife, Jennie Canipe
who died in 1999, a son Robert Canipe, who died in 1941 and nine
brothers and sisters. Survivors include a son, Buddy L. Canipe and
wife, Elizabeth of Asheville, NC, a grandson, Larry Canipe of Arden,
a granddaughter, Jerrie Canipe McCracken of Hickory, and a great grandson
Michael, of Hickory. A special friend and caregiver, Betty Gregg of
Black Mountain. A special thank you to the administrative staff of
Asheville Health Care. Funeral Services will be held Saturday,
December 22 at 11:00AM in the chapel of Henline - Hughes Funeral
Home with Richard Sparks and Vernon Buchanan officiating. The family
will receive friends from 10:30 until 11:00. Interment will follow
at Phillips Cemetery (Red Hill Community).
In lieu of flowers the family has requested that memorial
donations be given to the needy for food, medicine, or fuel.
