CALLAHAN
David Lee Callahan, age 60 of Hwy 80 Bakersville, NC passed away
November 15, 2007 at his home. He was a native of Mitchell County,
NC and was employed as a Correctional Officer with The North
Carolina Department of Corrections and also as a Truck Driver with
Grassy Creek Construction. He was a member of Red Hill Baptist
Church and Bakersville Masonic Lodge #357 AF&AM where he was a
32nd degree Mason, and also Oasis
Shrine Temple in Charlotte, NC. He was the son of the late Floyd Raybe and Elsie Tipton Callahan.
Survivors include; wife Janis Hughes Callahan, of the home,
daughter, Sherry C. Hampton and husband Dennis, of Laurens, SC, son,
David Brian Callahan Jr, and wife Chantel T, of Burnsville, NC,
brothers, Eddie Wayne Callahan, of Shelby, NC, and Ronnie Lane
Callahan, of Burnsville, NC, sisters, Linda Faye Freeman, and
Frances Wise, both of Bakersville, NC, eight grandchildren, Tollie,
Nathaniel, Dillon, and Hannah Callahan, Zach, Kelsey, David,
and Will Hampton. He was preceded in death by; brother, Floyd
Raybe Callahan Jr.
The family will receive friends Friday, November 16 from 6:00
until 8:00PM at Red Hill Baptist Church. Funeral Services will be
held Saturday, November 17 at 1:00PM in Red Hill Baptist Church with
Randy Wise officiating. Interment will be at Red Hill Baptist Church
Cemetery. Flowers are accepted or memorials may be made to;
