BYRD
Thelma Hughes Byrd, age 82 of Battle Branch Rd, Bakersville, NC
passed away Monday, February 11th 2008 at her home. She was the
daughter of the late Harvey and Lockie Davis Hughes. She was retired
from American Thread Company and a member of Church of Jesus
Christ at Beans Creek.
Survivors include; daughter, Nellie Putman, of Bakersville, NC,
sons, Kenneth "Crow" Byrd, and Tony Byrd, both of Bakersville, NC,
sisters, Alma Buchanan, of Bakersville, NC, Cora Reynolds, of Big
Fork Montana, Nora Arrowood, of Pontiac Illinois, and Annie Moffitt,
of Pennsylvania, one brother, Clyde Hughes, of Bakersville, NC,
fifteen grandchildren, twenty great grandchildren, and five great
great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by; husband, Roy
Byrd, sons, Marvin Byrd, Cecil Byrd, daughter, Vickie Sue Byrd, and
two brothers.
Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, February 13th at 8:00PM
in Church of Jesus Christ Beans Creek with G B Garland, David Byrd,
and Stokes Cook officiating. The family will receive friends two
hours prior to the service. Interment will be Thursday, February
14th at 11:00 AM at Beans Creek Cemetery.
