BURNETTE
Howard Lee Burnette, age 73 of Burnette Lane Spruce Pine, NC,
passed away November 30, 2007. He was a Native of Mitchell County,
NC and the son of the late Plato and Mamie Self Burnette. He was a
Member, Deacon, and Sunday School Superintendent, at Chestnut Grove
Baptist Church. He was a veteran of The United States Army, and was
in Supervision at American Thread for 35 years.
Survivors include; wife, Donna Lee Buchanan Burnette, of the
home, son, Gregory Lee Burnette, of Little Switzerland, NC,
daughter, Christine Shepard and husband Russell, of Burnsville, NC,
one brother, Johnny Ernest Burnette, of Marion, NC, one
granddaughter, Savannah Hope Shepard.
He was preceded in death by; brother, James Plato Burnette, two
sisters, Wanda Kay Burnette and Mabel Williams. Funeral services
will be held Sunday, December 2 at 3:00PM in Chestnut Grove Baptist
Church with Vernon Buchanan and Royce Ball officiating. The
family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment
will follow at Burnette Cemetery.
