| DATELINE: BURNSVILLE, NC LOUISE GURLEY
BURLESON Louise Gurley Burleson of Arbuckle Road,
Burnsville, NC, passed away December 19, 2009 at the Blue Ridge
Regional Hospital in Spruce Pine, NC. She was a native of
Mitchell County, NC, but lived most of her life in Yancey County,
NC. She was the daughter of the late Lewis and Kate
Stewart Gurley. She was retired from Mitchell and Yancey
County Department of Social Service where she was an In-Home Aid.
She was a member of Lily Branch Baptist Church and was a lifetime
member of the American Red Cross. Survivors include: daughters,
Kimberly Joan Whetstine and husband Daniel of Burnsville, NC, and
Jackie Burleson of Burnsville, sisters, Doris Burleson of
Burnsville, NC, and Joyce Tipton Boone of Spruce Pine, NC, brothers,
Eugene Gurley of Bakersville, NC, Dan Gurley, and wife Mary Etta, of Spruce Pine, NC,
grandchildren, Jeff Whetstine and Stephanie Stroupe, and great
grandson, Austin Matthew Stroupe.
She was preceded in death by: husband, Jack Burleson and
brother, Lewis Ray Gurley. Funeral services will be held,
Wednesday, December 23, 2009 at 3:00PM in Lily Branch Baptist
Church. Visitation will be two hours prior to the service. Gary Baker, Steve Williams, and Matthew Grindstaff
will be officiating the service. Interment will follow in Lily
Branch Cemetery. Henline-Hughes is assisting the Burleson family. |
