| DATELINE: SPRUCE PINE, NC TED BUCHANAN
Ted Buchanan, age 79, of Spruce Pine, NC, passed away April 2,
2010. He was a native of Mitchell County, NC, and was the son
of the late George and Dona Ward Buchanan. He had previously
worked at Henredon Furniture and was a Veteran of the United States
Army. He was a member of Cane Creek Baptist Church.
Survivors include: wife, Georgia Rathbone Buchanan, of the
home, sons, Jimmy Buchanan of WV, Dennis Buchanan of Baltimore, MD,
two daughters, Renia Paigo and Virginia Buchanan both of Baltimore,
MD, step-daughter, Velma Hoilman of Bakersville, NC, step-sons, Doug
and Garry Bryant both of Burnsville, NC, sisters, Ruby McGee and
Donna Lee Barnett both of Spruce Pine, NC, Ruth Hill and Rachel
Higgins of Winston Salem, NC, brothers, Virgil Buchanan of
Bakersville, NC, and Jack Buchanan of California, several
grandchildren and step-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by
brother, Burbage Buchanan. Funeral services will be held Monday,
April 5, 2010 at 3:00PM in the Chapel of Henline-Hughes Funeral Home
in Bakersville, NC. Visitation will be two hours prior to the
service. Earl Carver Jr. and Jim Buchanan will be officiating
the service. Interment will follow at the Green Young
Cemetery.
