Roy Lee Buchanan, Age 72, Of Buchanan Hill
Drive, Bakersville, died Friday, January 25, 2008
at Spruce Pine Community Hospital..He was the
son of the late Sam and Mary Howell
Buchanan. A Native of Mitchell County he was a
former employee of Karen-Dale Knitting Mills.He was a member of
Silver Chapel Baptist Church and VFW Post 8060 in Spruce Pine,NC
He is preceded in death by sisters Irene
McKinney and Edna McKinney.
Survivors are: One daughter, Tammy Buchanan.
Four sons , Roger Buchanan of Bakersville,NC, Michael Buchanan of
Marion, NC Roy Buchanan,Jr of Marion,NC and Thomas Buchanan of
Bakersville,NC. Three sisters, Joann Silvers of Bakersville,NC.
Beatrice Downer of Burnsville,NC and Muriel Grindstaff of Spruce
Pine,NC. One brother, Archie Buchanan of Marion,NC.
Funeral services will be Sunday, January 27 at
6Pm at Henline Hughes Chapel. The family will receive friends from 4
to 6 pm prior to the service. Graveside services will be Monday,
January 28 at 1 pm at Silver Chapel Church Cemetery.
Henline-Hughes is assisting the family.
