Paul Lawrence Buchanan Jr, age 78 of Violet Lane Newland, NC
passed away April 6, 2008. He was the son of the late Paul and Ethel
Roten Buchanan, and a retired Rock Mason and Carpenter. He was a
Veteran of the United States Marine Corp. He was a member of Powder
Mill Baptist Church.
Survivors include; wife, Betty Jean Buchanan, of the home, sons,
Keith Buchanan and wife Mary, of Newland, NC, and Paul Watson, and
wife Brenda, of Spruce Pine, NC, one brother, Alvin Austin Buchanan,
of Plumtree, NC, five grandchildren, Thomas L Buchanan, Brian K
Buchanan, Ashely D Buchanan, Jeffery E Watson, and James P Watson,
one stepgrandchild, Dawn Keenan, one great grandchild, Austin
Roberts. The family will receive friends Wednesday, April 9 from
6:00PM until 8:00PM in Henline -Hughes Funeral Home. Funeral
Services will be held Thursday, April 10 at 2:00PM at Yellow
Mountain Baptist Church with John Stafford officiating. Interment
will follow at Yellow Mountain Cemetery, with Avery County VFW
conducting Military Graveside Honors. Henline - Hughes Funeral
