BENNETT
Mack Bennett, age 98 of Hwy 197 North Green Mountain NC passed
away Friday, January 11, at Johnson City Medical Center. He was a
native of Mitchell County, NC and the son of the late James and Mary
Jane Gouge Bennett. He attended Red Hill Baptist Church, and was
retired from CSX Railroad where he worked as a Machine Operator..
Survivors include; daughters, Louise Slagle and husband Darrell, of
Bakersville, NC, and Lillian Bennett, of Erwin, TN, two sons, Ronald
Bennett, of Green Mountain, NC, and Vernon Bennett and wife Sabra,
of Newdale NC, one sister, Minnie Lucas, of Rising Sun, Md, seven
grandchildren, and nine great grandchildren. He was preceded in
death by; wife, Elizabeth Broyles Bennett, four brothers, and eight
sisters. Funeral services will be held Sunday, January 13 at
4:00PM in the chapel of Henline - Hughes Funeral Home with Randy
Wise, Joe Brown, and Mike Brazelle officiating. The family will
receive friends two hours prior to the service. Interment will be
Monday, January 14 at 1:00PM at Evergreen Cemetery ( 7th Street
Erwin, TN). Henline - Hughes Funeral Home is assisting the Bennett
