BENNETT
Clarence Bennett, age 79 of Griffith Branch Rd, Green Mountain,
NC passed away July 9, 2010 at Brookside Rehabilitation and Care in
Burnsville, NC. He was the son of the late Clayton and Julia Barnett
Bennett. He worked at the Veterans Hospital in Johnson City, TN, and
was also a Farmer. He was a Veteran of The United States Army, and
served in the Korean War.
Survivors include his wife, Madeline Griffith Bennett of the
home, daughter, Sherry Souther and husband Steve, of North
Wilkesboro, NC, and a son, Todd Bennett and wife Donna, of Green
Mountain, NC, one sister, Phyllis Brand, of Conover, NC, one
brother, Dayton Bennett, of Columbus, Ohio, and four grandchildren,
Kristin Souther, Zack Souther, Jessica Stafford, and Houston
Bennett.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Kay Heaton.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 10, 2010 at 8:00PM
in the chapel of Henline - Hughes Funeral Home with Randy Clark
officiating. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the
service. Interment will be Sunday, July 11, 2010 at 2:00PM at Tipton
Griffith Cemetery with the North Carolina Honor Guard conducting
Military Honors.
